Special Attire Is Donned at the High School Prom

Abby and Her Date Get Stuck on What Material to Use

Instead of renting usual prom attire this year, Abby and her boyfriend, Devin Henderson, were inspired to make their outfits for the Redlands East Valley High School senior prom by hand. The material they chose to use was duct tape. Yes. That's right, duct tape!
A total of 32 rolls of duct tape (using seven colors) were used to fabricate their stylish attire, designed with a "spider and its web" theme. After more than 150 hours of hands-on taping, they completed their amazing wardrobe, as you can see in this "fully outfitted" photo. (•Click it to enlarge it, read its caption, and reduce it.•)
The two did it partly for fun and partly to try to win a college scholarship from the sponsoring duct tape company. Entering the Duck Brand Duct Tape "Stuck at Prom" Contest, Devin and Abby had hoped to win one of three cash prizes: a $3,000 college scholarship for each individual on the winning team; second- and third-place prizes are $2,000 and $1,000, respectively, per person. Alas, the couple didn't make the top-ten list of qualifiers so can't be one of the winning couples. Nevertheless, Devin and Abby's efforts brought them much enjoyment along with lasting memories.
Judging criteria used to narrow the field of potential winning couples included:

One of the contest's rules required that couples wear their duct tape ensembles to their high school prom. They did that and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Many of their fellow students took pictures of them.
This was the most elaborate arts-and-crafts project that Abby has ever completed.
As you'll see in their official entry photo, their custom-designed and fabricated duct tape accessories included a hat, earrings, undies, a cape, masks, a cane, gloves, purse, shoes, and flowers.
Obviously, it's safe to say that Devin and Abby's creative efforts give new meaning to the term "stuck on you."
